Operation ASHA has achieved some of the best results in the world in TB treatment in urban slums. The impact of Operation ASHA’s model is most clearly seen in South Delhi where Operation ASHA’s centers treat half of the total patient population. Key results in this area are as follows:

 

  1. Default is down to 2-3% in urban slums. No wonder, experts have found our work to be "truly remarkable" and "fascinating and excellent" .
  2. Cure rate has climbed to 92% for new sputum positive patients.

 

Model’s Cost-Effectiveness

 

  1. The cost of treating a patient in urban slums for the entire therapy of average 7 months is only $25 = $3.70 a month.
  2. Operation ASHA utilizes all government provided resources and existing infrastructure in the communities. Every dollar received is leveraged 25 times .
  3. Social return on investment is 22500% a year for Operation ASHA and 3750% for investment by all partners .
