Dense network of treatment centers

Operation ASHA is taking the treatment to the doorsteps of the disadvantaged because “time consumption on travel to the treatment center is a deterrent for compliance. Coverage should be modified to reduce time and financial cost for the patients.” state Habib & Baig .

  1. Accessibility:

Treatment centers are established in easily accessible and familiar spots such as community stores, shops and temples and are operated by respected members of the community

  2. Convenience:

Unlike government DOTS center or centers run by other NGOs that are open for only 4-6 hours per day, Operation ASHA’s DOTS centers run from the early hours of morning until late in the night. Thus, patients can procure the medicine with minimal effort at a convenient time, without having to lose wages.

Enrollment of providers from the community also reduces costs drastically for the NGO . Easy accessibility ensures that every patient completes the treatment and keeps default and drug-resistance at bay. We have established a large network of centers so that no patient has to walk for more than 10 minutes to get medicine.
